I am Loraine Moreno

Traveling is entwined with your identity and personal narrative; it's more of a journey than a destination. I consider myself to be less of a tourist and more of a wanderer. I travel to learn and explore instead of to unwind or escape. Since I was a little child living on a remote island where we were not permitted to travel I have yearned to see the world, so I wandered through Pippi Longstocking and The Little Prince. Then when I was eighteen, I had my first  trip ever, traveling from Cuba to the United States across the Caribbean Sea in a small boat. All that was needed was a great deal of bravery and resolve—not a passport. The day I understood that the only thing I am going to take with me is what I live, I began to Live what I want to take with me 25 years later I have visited 39 countries in 5 continents. Mostly with my family of four, but more recently as empty nesters. Finding small, charming towns, seaside hills, and fishing villages appeals to me more, even though I also like large, bustling cities with skyscrapers and modern architecture. I always prefer hotels with views, and I enjoy collecting images of doors.
